This body of work explores the shifting landscape of mountain ranges through the language of clay. Wheel-thrown bowls, vessels and jugs become surfaces for expressive mark-making, where hand-painted stains and oxides evoke rocky escarpments, distant horizons and the changing light of the setting sun.
 
Layered washes of black, grey and earthy tones suggest weathered stone and geological formations, while subtle warm hues reference the last light moving across the landscape. Rather than depicting a specific place, each piece captures an atmosphere—a memory of walking through mountainous terrain and observing its changing textures, colours and contours.
 
Fine wire elements emerge from the ceramic forms, extending the landscape beyond the vessel. These gestural lines echo the silhouettes of peaks, rock formations and shifting topography, introducing movement and drawing in space. The wire creates a dialogue between the solid permanence of fired clay and the lightness of line, inviting the viewer to consider both the physical and imagined landscape.
 
Together, the collection reflects an ongoing fascination with the rhythms of the natural world, transforming functional ceramic forms into quiet interpretations of place, memory and geological time.
