Introducing the Lichen Rock series — a body of work inspired by the striking orange lichen that clings to rocks along the Tasmanian coast, this range is wheel thrown or hand formed using Keanes white raku clay which has a rock like texture or a smooth white clay. They are hand painted with coloured stains and oxides at multiple times during the making and firing process.
Celebrating the rugged beauty of the Tasmanian east coast’s landscape, they can feature George the pelican who can normally be found hanging out at the boat ramp or a lone fisherman, adding a whimsical touch to your table.

This piece is hand formed using keanes white raku clay, left natural unglazed on the interior and sealed with liquid quartz, clear glaze outside with a swish of copper green.
